After running my own dance school for only 7 years in Pershore and Worcester, Shakespeare Dance Studio had the highest of reputations with exam results and also scholarship winners to full time dance colleges with a chance for a career in dance. Having participated in many dance festivals around the UK it was obvious that there was a great talent out there but nowhere To get a good grounding and work within a company, so in 1980 I formed the company “The Three Counties Youth Ballet”. Many dancers from all walks of life arrived for the auditions which went on for over two weeks. Boy’s and girl’s from theages of 14-19 were given the opportunity to feel the love and discipline required to become a professional dancer within a company. In 1982 I was the youngest examiner accepted at the age of 28 for the “Royal Academy of Dancing”, where I examined around the world for 10 years. It was a difficult task to be an examiner, dance teacher and director. I have waited a long time for the revival of the company and I am extremely proud that it is 2 of my past pupils, Michelle and Georgina who have had the vision to start it all over again. I wish them and all of you, the best of luck and the best experience ever.
